In July 2025, the Republic of Benin welcomed Ciara as part of the My Afro Origins program, following the adoption of Law No. 2024-31 of September 2, 2024, granting Beninese nationality to Afro-descendants.

Ciara became one of the first public figures to officially benefit from the program and to obtain Beninese nationality. Her visit was conceived as a landmark homecoming, symbolizing a renewed bond between Benin and its diaspora.
